St. Joseph Catholic Parish - "Rainbow Parish"

Fr. FrankFrom the desk of Father Frank

The Diocese of Saginaw asked that ALL parishes take significant steps in Planning Tomorrow's Parishes and these formes were used to discuss our parish's strengths, concerns, and explore ways to work with other parishes to better serve the people of God.

Below are forms that are made available to the parish as discussed at the Parish Town Hall Meeting on April 29, 2012.

1. Long Form Final Draft - This is a 38 page document that was prepared by the Core Team of St. Joseph's Church and submitted to the Diocese in March. This is a very detailed document that covers every aspect of how our parish operates from Finances, Evangelization, Stewardship to Faith Formation.

2. Parish Summary Report - This is a 3 page document that was prepared by the Core Team of St. Joseph's Church and submitted to the Diocese. It serves as a summary of our strengths and weaknesses and has information regarding how St. Joseph's is staffed with employees and other information about St. Joseph's that we felt was important for the Diocesan Planning Commission to know.

3. Data Verification Form - This is a 1 page documents that shows our numbers for things like church capacity, number of masses, families, sacraments, etc.

4. Cohort Listing - This is a 4 page document that was prepared by the Diocese of Saginaw and it shows how the churches are grouped into three (3) geographical locations, namely the Thumb, Western and Central. The Thumb Cohort consists of 34 parishes and has 7 teams. The Central Cohort has 44 parishes and 8 teams (St. Joseph's is in Cohort #15). The Western Cohort consists of 28 parishes and has 7 teams. .
